Manipur: Governor’s Cup Invitation Polo Tournament 2019 concludes
The final rite of the twenty-ninth Governor’s Cup Invitation Polo Tournament, 2019, and the 18th Governor’s Cup Women’s Polo Tournament, 2019, was held at the Imphal Polo floor of Manipur on Tuesday.
Manipur Governor Dr. Najma Heptulla, MHRPA president H Dileep Singh, and advisor S Buddhachandra Singh, among others, attended the ultimate characteristic.
Speaking at the occasion, Governor Dr. Najma Heptulla stated that the Manipuri pony is going through a serious mission to its lifestyles. It is very distressing to look at the condition of the ponies on the roads without everyone searching after them.
Stating that food poisoning and street accidents are often the primary motives for the demise of Pony, the Governor said that the concerted attempt by all stakeholders is the want of the hour to shop this breed.
Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association (MHRPA) organized the sport to shop Manipuri Pony and popularize poor lo sport ponies des selling tourism.
Sports gave the arena the famous Indigenous game called ‘Sagol Kangjei’, now called polo worldwide.
The Manipuri pony, an identified small breed of India, is strong and ag,ile. There is a forthcoming risk to this rare Manipuri Pony breed, so add to the game of polo. The survival of this uncommon species is a critical query now as it’s far mentioned that the variety of Manipuri Pony will decline to less than 500 in some years if the quick dwindling variety isn’t checked on time. The human intrusion of their natural grazing fields has displaced the ponies, forcing them to return to the streets for survival.
The Governor introduced economic help of Rs 1 lakh from the Governor’s Discretionary Fund to the organizers.
Later, the chief visitor and dignitaries disbursed trophies and coin prizes to the event’s winners and runners-up.
Winners and runners-up of the twenty-ninth Governor’s Cup Invitation Polo Tournament, 2019 obtained trophies and cash prizes of Rs 50,000 and Rs 30,000, respectively, while winners and runners-up of the 18th Governor’s Cup Women’s Polo Tournament, 2019 obtained trophies and a cash prize of Rs 20,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively.
